July 2026 opens with an exceptionally active recruitment season. The banking sector alone has released over 8,200 vacancies this week, with applications for SBI PO and IBPS PO now open. Railway and SSC aspirants have important correction window deadlines to meet. This edition covers every significant notification active in Week 1 of July 2026  read carefully and apply before the respective closing dates.

 Week 1 at a Glance : Active Notifications

BANKING SECTOR

SBI PO is India’s most sought-after banking officer examination. With 1,500 vacancies this cycle  a three-fold increase over 2025  this represents an exceptional opportunity for graduate aspirants. The selection process comprises three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination (including a Descriptive Paper), and Group Exercise/Psychometric Test/Interview. Only marks from the Main Examination and Interview are counted in the final merit list. The annual CTC has been revised upward to ₹21.97 Lakhs, making this the highest-paying PSU banking officer post in India.

IBPS PO 2026, released on 1 July 2026 under CRP PO/MT-XVI, is one of the largest single banking recruitment exercises of the year, covering Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Central Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and Punjab & Sind Bank. With 6,715 vacancies and Prelims expected in August, aspirants who have not yet begun preparation must do so immediately. This notification opens simultaneously with SBI PO  both applications can be submitted concurrently.

RAILWAYS

RRB Technician 2026 is one of Indian Railways’ premier technical recruitment drives for the current cycle. Grade I posts are open to Engineering graduates and diploma holders; Grade III posts require ITI certification in a recognised trade. Candidates in the engineering and technical streams who have been awaiting a Railways notification should prioritise this application. The fee paid is refundable for reserved category candidates upon appearing for the examination  a unique feature of RRB recruitment.

CENTRAL GOVERNMENT  SSC

For the 28 lakh-plus candidates who applied for SSC CGL 2026, the correction window of 1–3 July 2026 is a critical opportunity. SSC allows modifications to be made twice during this window; correction charges apply to all categories. Candidates who made errors in their preference of posts, examination centers, or personal particulars must use this window without fail. The Tier 1 examination is imminent  August to September 2026  and preparation must be in full swing. Notable change this year: SSC has introduced mandatory sectional timing in both Tier 1 and Tier 2.

DEFENCE

NDA & NA (II) 2026 is the second NDA examination cycle for the year and is open to male and female candidates who have passed or are appearing in Class 12. Eligibility for the Navy and Air Force wings specifically requires Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. SSB (Services Selection Board) Interviews follow the written examination. Successful candidates join the National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, Pune, for a three-year training programme leading to a permanent commission in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force.
